I was doing some research on a cannibal or werewolf in Welsh tradition -- throughout the course of the research, I found that several 'cynbyn' or dog-heads were supposed to have fought at a battle which was apparently fought near present-day Edinburgh (southern Scotland was a part of a Cymric kingdom, so culturally was Welsh).
